IN BEAUTIFUL OSCODA COUNTY
Clinton Township is located in the far northeast corner of Oscoda County. It is bisected by M33 which runs north/south through Comins, it's largest community. The land includes at least a dozen small lakes as well as a portion of McCollum Lake on its Southwest corner. It is home to several large Hunt Clubs, as well as State Land.
The area was first settled during the lumber days of the 1880s by the H.M. Loud & Sons Lumber Company, who built a narrow guage railroad in the area, which included a depot at Comins. A post office was eventually opened here in 1900.
